Application Fields
STRUKSILON 8002 is used as a silicone
surfactant for production of polyurethane rigid foam. It is
especially recommended for the use in PU 1- or 2-component spray
foam applications.
Chemical and
Physical Properties
According to its chemical structure STRUKSILON 8002 is a polyether modified polydimethyl siloxane
resistant to hydrolysis. Due to the negligible content of
hydroxyl or other groups reactive towards isocyanates it is
chemically inert in polyurethane formulations.
STRUKSILON 8002 is a clear, colourless to slightly yellow
liquid of middle viscosity, has strong surfactant properties and
is miscible with water at room temperature.

Technical Properties
Due to its chemical structure
STRUKSILON 8002 can be incorporated in A as well as in
B-components. STRUKSILON 8002 is compatible with isocyanate. STRUKSILON 8002 can be mixed without problems
with the polyols commonly used in the formulation of PU 1- or
2-component spray foam.
STRUKSILON 8002 is well
suited for most of the common blowing agents like
Propane/Butane, 134 a , 152 and dimethylether.
STRUKSILON
8002’s high activity results in high foam yields combined with
excellent foam structures.
STRUKSILON 8002 can also be
used in the majority of gun foam applications. As it might fail
in some gun foam formulations it is recommend to check foam
structure and shrinkage carefully before applying STRUKSILON 8002 in gun foam.
Recommended Dosage
Usually, STRUKSILON 8002 is
applied in quantities of 0.5 to 1.5 php (parts on 100 parts
polyol). We recommend to adjust the optimum dosage to the
corresponding formula. However, a concentration of 3 php should
not be exceeded.
Product Safety and
Handling
STRUKSILON 8002 is not a
hazardous material for the purposes of hazardous materials
regulation. STRUKSILON 8002 does not contain aminic
components.
